Dental Cleanings OKC
Home »
Sure, you know you should be coming to the dentist every six months, but we also know that plenty of people are not. If you are overdue for a dental cleaning or simply ready for a new OKC dentist, call Saxon Dentistry to set up an appointment. With our office, you’ll enjoy a patient-centric experience that focuses on your entire mouth and overall oral health. Our patients are our family, and if you haven’t experienced our unmatched service and comprehensive care, it’s time to stop by and find out what we’re all about.
Do I really need to see a dentist every six months?
Yes, yes you do, and not just because we love seeing our patients. The every six month dental visit incorporates both a necessary cleaning and important exam. The cleaning keeps your mouth feeling fresh and removes built-up tartar and plaque that can lead to more serious problems. The exam, on the other hand, allows us to identify problems at their earliest stages and make treating those issues simpler and less costly to you. Many oral health concerns can be treated, and their effects reversed if caught in the early stages.

What is preventative care?
The way we treat our patients at Saxon Dentistry is by considering the whole mouth during every single visit. We don’t only look for problems and treat them because we know that a problem in one spot could be a harbinger of larger problems elsewhere. With our comprehensive approach, we treat you holistically rather than chasing problems from one spot to another.
At every six-month appointment, you’ll have one of our highly skilled hygienists working to remove plaque or tartar and keeping an eye out for early signs of cavities, gum disease and more. Once your cleaning is finished, Dr. Saxon will take a careful look at every tooth and every inch of your mouth, hunting down any possible trouble spots. In between visits remember to brush and floss twice daily and limit sticky sugary substances.
Benefits of flouride
At the end of your visit, we offer our fluoride treatment. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral found in most water sources. Its use in children and adults has been shown to reduce the likelihood of cavities and turn around tooth decay in the early stages. Fluoride also naturally hardens the tooth’s enamel, making it less likely to break down because of the acids in your food.
Why digital X-Rays?
The first time you see us we’ll need a full rundown of your dental and medical history, plus a new set of x-rays. At Saxon Dentistry, we use modern, digital technology to see into your jawbone and find any abscesses or cysts hiding around your teeth. The Dexis digital x-ray system uses minimally invasive intraoral sensors that provide an image clearer than anything we’ve seen and allow us to see deeper into the hidden corners of your mouth.
